The White House has strongly denied reports suggesting that President Donald Trump is named in newly surfaced Justice Department documents connected to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A spokesperson dismissed the allegations as “nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media.”
The response follows a federal judge’s decision to reject the Justice Department’s request to unseal court files related to Epstein’s past legal proceedings in Florida.
Pressure has been mounting on the Trump administration to release further information about Epstein’s connections and activities. During his election campaign, Trump had pledged to make such files public.
Meanwhile, one of Epstein’s accusers told the BBC that the ongoing legal battle over these documents has been “exhausting,” expressing frustration over the delays in full transparency.
