A distinguished delegation from Monaco, comprising representatives from the Attractiveness Department of the Prince’s Government, Monaco Private Label, the Monaco Economic Board, the Monaco Association for Financial Activities, and the Monte-Carlo SBM Group, embarked on a mission to London from Wednesday, June 12, to Thursday, June 13. The visit aimed to strengthen economic ties and promote the many advantages of living and investing in the Principality of Monaco.
Objectives of the Visit
The delegation’s visit had three primary objectives. The first was to engage with over thirty entrepreneurs and investors during a dinner organized by Monaco Private Label. The goal was to persuade these influential figures to consider establishing their businesses in Monaco, thereby generating significant economic value for the Principality.
In addition to the dinner, the delegation held meetings with various investment funds and financial companies. These discussions were designed to highlight the unique advantages of residing and conducting business in Monaco. The Principality’s favorable tax regime, high quality of life, and robust financial infrastructure were key points of emphasis.
The third objective was to deliver comprehensive presentations to around sixty UK-based advocates, including tax specialists, lawyers, bankers, and other professionals. These advocates play a crucial role in promoting Monaco to their clients, acting as vital intermediaries in attracting new residents and investors to the Principality.
Strengthening Monaco-UK Relations
The United Kingdom holds a significant position as a partner to Monaco, sharing a mutual emphasis on the financial sector’s importance in their economies. British residents form one of the largest expatriate communities in Monaco, constituting seven percent of the Principality’s population. This close relationship underscores the importance of continuous engagement and collaboration between the two regions.
Following the successful mission to London, Frédéric Genta, Monaco’s Chief Officer for Attractiveness and the Digital Transition, remarked, “London is a resolutely attractive city for the Principality as the home of world-class entrepreneurs and investors who take an interest in Monaco. Once again, the joint approach taken by Monaco Private Label, the Monaco Economic Board, the Monaco Association for Financial Activities, and the Monte-Carlo SBM Group proved to be effective.”
Conclusion
The visit to London was a strategic effort by the Monegasque delegation to enhance the Principality’s economic appeal and foster deeper connections with key players in the UK. By engaging directly with entrepreneurs, investors, and financial professionals, Monaco continues to position itself as a premier destination for business and high-quality living. The collaboration between the various Monegasque entities underscores a unified approach in promoting the many advantages of the Principality on the global stage.
