An Exclusive Interview with Monaco Muse
In the ever-evolving world of fashion and social media, one name stands out: Domenica Pace. A fashion influencer, model, and blogger, she has captivated audiences worldwide with her distinctive style, bold opinions, and commitment to authenticity. From her early days in Puglia, Italy, to her rise as a powerful digital personality with a strong Instagram presence, Domenica has redefined success in the modern fashion industry.
In this exclusive Monaco Muse interview, she opens up about her passions, career, social media presence, and views on the fashion industry, as well as what the future holds for her.
The Woman Behind the Fame
MM: Hi Domenica! Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Domenica: I am a 37-year-old woman from Puglia, Italy. My passions include fashion, writing, and reading, which have shaped my career and personal growth. I believe that self-expression is a powerful tool, and I use fashion and words to reflect my identity and ideas.
MM: How would you describe your personality?
Domenica: I know myself well, and I’d say I am calm, composed, and open-minded, but I do not tolerate arrogance. I believe in personal freedom and respect, and I generally mind my own business. However, I will not remain silent if someone tries to undermine my intelligence or contradict me without valid arguments. I stand my ground when necessary.
The Rise of an Instagram Star
MM: Unlike many influencers who started with a blog before moving to social media, you took the opposite route. How did your passion for Instagram begin?
Domenica: Instagram is the platform of my generation. It allows me to connect with people from all over the world instantly. It’s dynamic, visual, and engaging, making it the perfect medium for expressing my love for fashion and creativity.
MM: How much of your Instagram content is spontaneous, and how much is planned?
Domenica: I am always spontaneous, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think about what I post. I like to compare myself to a comic book character—I have a thought bubble (internal monologue) and a speech bubble (spoken words). I try to strike a balance between what I feel and what I express.
For example, if someone asks, “Am I bothering you?” my instinctive reaction might be “Ugh, what a pain!”, but my polite side might say, “Not at all!”. My answer ends up somewhere in between, like, “Well, enough!”—honest, but not offensive.
A Passion for Fashion: From Childhood to Career
MM: When did your love for fashion begin, and who influenced you the most?
Domenica: My mother was a seamstress, and she introduced me to the world of fashion when I was just eight years old. By the time I was 13, I participated in Miss Teenager, and from there, my journey in fashion took off. I became involved in numerous fashion shows and modeling projects, setting the foundation for my future in the industry.
MM: Did you have other jobs before becoming an influencer?
Domenica: Yes! Before fully dedicating myself to modeling and influencing, I worked as a hostess in the ECM sector and as an assistant/secretary in a physiatry medical practice. I was 26 at the time, and I had just completed my degree in 2015.
Finding Fulfillment in Life and Career
MM: Are you happy with your life today?
Domenica: Absolutely! I feel like I’m nearing my personal and professional goals. I have worked hard on myself, and while there’s always room for growth, I am content with the person I am today.
That said, happiness is a complex concept. Instead of saying I am “happy,” I’d say I am at peace, focused, and striving toward happiness.
A Critical Eye on the Fashion Industry
MM: What are your thoughts on today’s fashion industry?
Domenica: Fashion today is both exciting and problematic. On one hand, it’s more inclusive and innovative, but on the other, fast fashion has become a serious issue.
Many companies mass-produce cheap, low-quality collections that often lack originality. These brands contribute to pollution, environmental destruction, and worker exploitation. Clothing production involves the use of pesticides, chemicals, and synthetic fabrics that harm both our health and the planet.
Luxury brands aren’t innocent either. Many create cheaper lines specifically for outlet stores, using inferior materials to maximize profit while maintaining a luxury brand image. Consumers need to be aware of these tactics and make informed choices.
My advice? Buy vintage, support sustainable brands, and demand transparency from fashion companies. Instead of falling for the “organic” label, research whether materials like linen, hemp, and ethical cotton are genuinely eco-friendly.
The Modeling Experience
MM: You were also a model. Who have you worked with?
Domenica: I’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible photographers, particularly in Emilia-Romagna. One of my most significant collaborations was with Lorenzo Capellini, a renowned Genoese photographer who has worked with prestigious English and Italian publications.
Before every session, I liked to get to know the photographer via video call, plan a mood board, and discuss ideas. On shoot day, there was always a mix of music, laughter, and creative energy, making the experience truly enjoyable.
Social Media Fame: Fans vs. Haters
MM: You have a huge following on social media. What kind of messages do you receive most often?
Domenica: My followers are amazing! We share a mutual respect and appreciation. I love connecting with them and seeing how they interpret fashion in their own ways.
MM: What about haters?
Domenica: Haters are simply frustrated individuals who find pleasure in tearing others down. They are usually envious and insecure, attacking those who have something they lack.
I don’t let them affect me. In fact, I believe that having haters is a sign of success—it means you are significant enough to provoke a reaction. I ignore them because their negativity has nothing to do with me and everything to do with them.
The Future Awaits
MM: How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Domenica: Honestly, I have no idea—and that’s what makes life exciting!
If I look back 10 years ago, I never could have predicted where I am today. Life is full of unexpected opportunities, and I am open to wherever it takes me.
What I do know is that I will continue to follow my passions, embrace new challenges, and grow both personally and professionally.
