Elon Musk, Prince Andrew, and Others Named in Newly Released Epstein Documents

Newly unsealed documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have named several high-profile individuals, including billionaire Elon Musk and Prince Andrew. The files, released by Congressional Democrats and provided by the Epstein Estate to the U.S. House Oversight Committee, contain partial records such as flight manifests, phone logs, financial ledgers, and Epstein’s personal schedules.

Among the most notable revelations is a message dated 6 December 2014, which references Musk: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)”—indicating a planned visit to Epstein’s private island. Musk has previously stated that while Epstein invited him, he declined. He has yet to publicly comment on the latest disclosures.

Prince Andrew is listed as a passenger on a flight from Teterboro, New Jersey, to West Palm Beach, Florida, on 12 May 2000. Also on board were Epstein and his close associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to traffic underage girls for sex. Though two entries in Epstein’s ledgers mention payments for massages for an “Andrew” in 2000, it remains unclear whether this refers to Prince Andrew. Palace records confirm he was in the U.S. during that period, attending official engagements. Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to his association with Epstein.

Other influential names appearing in the documents include tech investor Peter Thiel and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon. A scheduled lunch with Thiel is noted in November 2017, and a planned breakfast meeting with Bannon is listed for 17 February 2019.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is also briefly mentioned. The files suggest tentative plans for a breakfast party with him in December 2014. Gates has previously described his meetings with Epstein as a “mistake.”

While the documents do not allege criminal activity by those named, they highlight Epstein’s extensive connections with powerful figures across various sectors.

Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. He had previously struck a plea deal in 2008 after being accused of molesting a minor.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are calling for more transparency, urging the release of additional records. A spokesperson stated that these revelations are essential to understanding Epstein’s influence and to achieving justice for survivors. Republicans criticized the timing of the release, accusing Democrats of politicizing the issue, but pledged to publish the full set of documents soon.
