Prince Albert Honors Olympic Legacy by Presenting Rowing Medals at Paris 2024
HSH Prince Albert of Monaco had the distinct honor of presenting the rowing medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Friday. This event held special significance, marking a century since his maternal grandfather, John B. Kelly, clinched his third Olympic gold medal in rowing, thus continuing a proud family tradition.
The day was also notable for the performance of Monegasque rower Quentin Antognelli, who competed in his final race. Representing Monaco in the D final, Antognelli aimed to secure a ranking between 19th and 24th place, underscoring Monaco’s dedication to fostering athletic talent.
Prince Albert awarded the gold medals in the double sculls event to Romanian rowers AS Cornea and M. Enache, who delivered an outstanding performance. The silver medals went to the Dutch duo M. Twellaar and S. Broenink, while the Irish team of D. Lynch and P. Doyle took home the bronze, completing a thrilling race.
