In a heartwarming initiative, the Monegasque Rugby Federation, in collaboration with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, recently hosted a creative contest that brought together over 80 eager students from Collège Charles III. The competition, aimed at students in sixth to ninth grade, invited them to design a new jersey for the Impis U16 team, a youth rugby squad founded by HSH Princess Charlene.
The event was graced by the presence of Princess Charlene and several esteemed figures, including Jean-Philippe Vinci, Monaco’s Director of National Education; Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene Foundation and Honorary President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation; Thierry Danthez, Vice-President of the Rugby Federation; Pascal Granero, Director of the Princess Charlene Foundation; and Nicolas Bonnet, National Technical Director of the Rugby Federation.
The talented winner of the contest received a distinctive jersey signed by all members of the Impis U16 team. This special jersey will be worn proudly by the young athletes during the highly anticipated Dubai 7s tournament, marking a significant milestone for Monaco’s sports community.
The Impis U16 team is comprised of promising young athletes who are part of the Rugby Exchange program, a fruitful partnership between the Federation and the Foundation. These gifted players will represent Monaco at the prestigious Dubai 7s tournament at the end of the year, showcasing their skills on an international stage.
