On Wednesday, August 21, AS Monaco fans gathered at the AS Monaco Village on Port Hercule for a memorable celebration of the club’s 100th anniversary. The event featured a special book signing with football legend Delio Onnis and Norbert Siri, author of the newly released book commemorating AS Monaco’s centenary.
The book, which has been on sale for a week in the club’s official store and online, has already captured the hearts of Monaco supporters. It was showcased at the event by Siri and Onnis, who holds the title of the club’s all-time top scorer. This book signing session was part of the broader festivities marking the centenary of the club, following a special appearance by Christian Mawissa earlier in the week.
Thiago Scuro, AS Monaco’s General Manager, emphasized the importance of the book during the event, describing it as a cornerstone of the centenary celebrations. He highlighted its dedication to the many influential figures in the club’s history, including HSH Prince Albert and club President Dmitry Rybolovlev, who both contributed to the book’s preface. Scuro also noted the inclusion of testimonials from fan groups, making the book a deeply personal and lasting tribute to AS Monaco’s legacy.
Fans of all ages had the opportunity to interact with both Siri and Onnis, sharing their memories and getting their copies of the book signed. Delio Onnis expressed his deep appreciation for the Monaco supporters, calling the event a moving experience that brought back many cherished memories.
Earlier in the day, Siri presented the book to young players at La Diagonale, AS Monaco’s academy. In the presence of Academy Director Sébastien Muet, U17 coach Manu Dos Santos, and other staff members, Siri shared his insights on the club’s rich history, offering the young talents a unique opportunity to connect with Monaco’s storied past.
The AS Monaco Village, located on Port Hercule’s Quai Albert 1er, continues to be a hub of centenary celebrations, offering a range of activities for fans and visitors until Sunday, August 25. The village features football matches on a mini pitch, precision competitions, quizzes, and a pop-up shop with the new 2024-25 jerseys, along with daily giveaways.
