On Wednesday, September 18, four newly appointed ambassadors officially presented their Letters of Credence to HSH Prince Albert II, marking the beginning of their diplomatic missions in the Principality of Monaco. The formal ceremony was followed by a luncheon hosted by Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Monaco’s Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, at the prestigious Hermitage Hotel.
The ambassadors represent Uruguay, Colombia, the Holy See, and Angola, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles:
- Jorge Luis Jure Arnoletti of Uruguay, with a diplomatic career spanning decades, has previously held posts in New York, London, and Lebanon. He also serves as Uruguay’s ambassador to France and Algeria.
- Hernando Alfonso Prada Gil, the ambassador from Colombia, is a seasoned legal expert and politician. His notable roles include Minister of the Interior and Secretary General under former President Juan Manuel Santos. In addition to his political career, he has over 20 years of experience as a law professor at Universidad Libre.
- Guilhermina Prata, representing Angola, has held several prominent positions within her country, including Minister of Justice and President of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Commission. She now serves as Ambassador to France, with accreditation to Monaco.
- Martin Krebs, Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See, boasts a distinguished diplomatic career within the Vatican, having served as Nuncio in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco.
The event underscores Monaco’s commitment to fostering strong diplomatic relations with nations across the globe, enhancing cooperation and international dialogue. Through the exchange of credentials, these diplomats will now work closely with Monaco to advance mutual interests and strengthen bilateral ties.
